Pandemic Portfolio provides a snapshot of how some lives were impacted as a result of an unprecedented global health emergency.
Welcome to the pandemic stories from the Goldfields of Western Australia.  During the year of 2020, life changed dramatically for everyone as a global pandemic swept the world.  In Western Australia, international borders were closed, followed by state borders and then a regional lockdown, with stay at home orders put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19.  Throughout much of the pandemic, our region was lucky with very little community spread that was controlled quickly, allowing us to get back to an open economy and free lifestyle, while some countries around the world experienced health system failure and excessive casualties. Everyone has pandemic stories to tell.
The stories in this book, Pandemic Portfolio, are from the perspective of the real people who shared them.  The portraits are the artwork of Linda Rae, who painted the subjects during live video calls while they had candid chats about their experiences.  Please enjoy meeting these people who have shared a little snapshot into this time to be preserved for future generations.
